Customized Boiler Water Treatment Chemicals

Boilers are an essential component of industrial and commercial operations across the world. Importantly boiler system components, boiler feed water quality, the mechanisms by which deposits form and corrosion occurs are varied and complex. Maintaining boiler systems requires effective chemical treatment supported by ongoing monitoring and control.

Wastewater Management Technology field engineers provide the highest level of boiler expertise available. Our experienced professionals help our customers with guidance and recommendations for treating a wide range of systems. Whether it’s on-demand steam generators, package boilers or closed-loop boiler water treatment, Wastewater Management Technology offers a full line of boiler water treatment chemicals, testing, and control equipment at an economical cost.

Our programs increase system efficiency, decrease plant downtime and maintenance costs, and extend equipment life.

Boiler Water Treatment

Boiler Water Treatment Guidelines

A boiler water treatment program is primarily designed to keep heat transfer surfaces (boilers, condensate/feedwater systems, and, where applicable, steam turbines) free from deposition and corrosion.

  • Boiler scale: Deposits often made of materials like calcium, silica and iron form scale deposits when these impurities, commonly found in the feed water, precipitate, concentrate and harden onto the heat transfer surfaces of the boiler. These deposits will reduce how well heat transfers, making your boiler less efficient and increasing fuel costs. Scale can also slough off the sides and interrupt the flow of water in the tubes, foul water level monitoring and cause overheating or failure.
  • Boiler corrosion: Elements in the air or water which come in contact with the boiler can cause pits and wear in the metal, eating away at the inner components. Corrosion in lower-pressure boilers is frequently the result of air ingress and dissolved oxygen concentration during unit downtimes. Corrosion can dramatically shorten a boiler’s lifespan, reduce its efficiency and cost thousands in repairs and unscheduled downtime.
